The device, called Spectacles (not too original), will hit the shelves later this year for £100 a pair.
This is the start of Snapchat’s attempt to branch out beyond it’s picture messaging app.
And as part of this, the company is also re-branding itself to Snap, Inc.
Snapchat’s 26-year-old founder, Evan Spiegel, told the Wall Street Journal he used the device on a holiday to California.
He said: ‘We were walking through the woods, stepping over logs, looking up at the beautiful trees.
‘And when I got the footage back and watched it, I could see my own memory, through my own eyes – it was unbelievable.
“It’s one thing to see images of an experience you had, but it’s another thing to have an experience of the experience. It was the closest I’d ever come to feeling like I was there again.”
